From a beautiful farm on the outskirts of the town of Summersville to your plate.
Tim Bailes is the third generation of Open Rocks Farm. Tim’s father was a full-time farmer who mostly sold chicken eggs from their farm from house to house. In 1980, the farm operation switched to a cattle farm.
Tim has two sons, Wesley and Andrew, who make up the fourth generation. Wesley has taken on a lot of responsibility on the farm. Andrew and his children also assist on the farm, and Andrew’s children make up the fifth generation.
What gives Open Rocks Farm its name is a beautiful rock formation that is present on the property. Similar to the views of Beartown State Park, the rock formations and the flat land make Open Rocks Farm beautiful.
Open Rocks Farm has 50 momma cows they breed for spring calves. Open Rocks Farm is zoned as protected farmland under the Farmland Protection Program. This ensures that the 300 acres of Open Rocks Farm will not be commercially developed or subdivided.
The best way to enjoy ground beef, according to the Bailes’?
