NOT YOUR TYPICAL TACOS
Tacos are always amazing, but you can change it up with this delicious recipe! A homemade taco seasoning and combining the seasoning with tomato sauce for a saucy consistency makes a chef’s kiss taco that will be the talk of the town!
TACO INGREDIENTS
1 lb Mountain State Ground Beef
1 tbsp Chili Powder
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp cumin
½ dried oregano
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
½ cup tomato sauce
½ cup cilantro
½ cup cheese
Taco Shells:
8 white corn tortillas
½ cup oil, canola or vegetable
TACO INSTRUCTIONS
1. Get a skillet and warm it over medium heat. Add the ground beef and separate the meat with a wooden spoon while cooking. Cook the ground beef thoroughly until completely brown and not pink.
2. Drain the grease. Return skillet to stove and reduce heat to low.
3. Add the ½ cup tomato sauce and the chili powder, salt, cumin, oregano, garlic powder and onion powder to the ground beef and stir until the meat is covered in the sauce
4. Allow meat to simmer for five minutes
5. Pour ½ cup of oil into a medium-size skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully dip a tortilla; if the oil sizzles and bubbles, it is the appropriate temperature. Gently lay the tortilla in the oil and fry each side for about 30 seconds until the tortilla has some color and crispiness
6. Remove the tortilla and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Carefully fold the tortilla over to form a taco shape.
7. Fill the tortillas with ground beef taco meat and add desired toppings. We’d suggest lettuce, avocado or guacamole, sour cream, chunky salsa, cilantro and cheese!
